Alerts Hotline and Reward System

Hotline and Reward System

Property Crimes are notoriously hard to solve unless caught while in progress or with "inside" information. The Construction Industry Crime Prevention Program improved the chances of arrest and prosecution with the first reward/hotline system for the industry in 1971. It operates around-the-clock to take anonymous information about construction site thefts, vandalism, employee theft, fraud, embezzlement, and other crimes or potential crimes against the industry. All valid information is passed on to law enforcement, while keeping the informant's name anonymous. If there is an arrest, restitution or recovery we pay rewards up to $1000. A Reward Committee reviews each case carefully and decides the reward amounts.

Crime Hotline Successes

  • Removed four 12 to 14 year olds balancing on top of a 150 foot crane, while throwing tools into the water at a Bay Area bridge project.
  • Won felony convictions against a 12 and 14 year old (who already had other outstanding warrants) for accomplishing a vicious $65,000 vandalism and beating up younger juveniles to force them to participate
  • Obtained felony indictments for a trucking company, an equipment dealer and professional thieves for stealing several million dollars of equipment and sending it to Mexico
  • Convicted owners of an illegal construction firm that operated soley with stolen equipment
  • Each year recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars of tools, several million dollars worth of equipment, while assisting in multiple arrests and convictions
